The programme for the 2015–2016 Visiting Speaker Series includes scholar and vocalist, Richard Wistreich (Royal College of Music), linguist and historian, Naomi Tadmor (Lancaster University), eminent historian Robert Tittler (Concordia University) and scholar of renaissance rhetoric, Lorna Hutson (St Andrews). Each guest speaker will give a public lecture on their current research and then lead a masterclass, working through the what, why and how of their research.
The SCEMS Visiting Speaker Series provides an opportunity to hear and learn from senior scholars as they share their methodology and reflect on their body of work. Lectures take place on Thursday evenings (5:30pm), with Friday morning Masterclasses focused on methods, and concepts. Advance registration is required for each Masterclass (maximum 20 participants), with lectures open to all who wish to attend.
Events are held at the Humanities Research Institute (34 Gell Street, Sheffield, S3 7QY).
Masterclass places are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Use the Contact form to register.
