Early Modern Forum: Jose Cree

Quantitative and qualitative approaches to the language of addiction in early modern England

History postgraduateĀ and member of the WROCAH Cultures of Consumption network, Jose Cree, will present a paper based on her doctoral research into “the language of addiction”. This lunchtime session will be of interest to historians, linguists, literary scholars and others who work with Early English Books Online in its various digital forms.

Jose is also co-organiser of next summer’s conference, Habitual Behaviours in Early Modern Europe.


Thursday lunchtime programme coordinated jointly by the postgraduate-run Early Modern Discussion Group and SCEMS. From October to December, the interdisciplinary Forum meets in the Humanities Research Institute at 1:05pm.
NB There will be no Forum on Thursdays 6, 20 October and 3 November.
